The 2016 Kia Optima has now earned the highest-possible safety rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) of Top Safety Pick Plus when it is equipped with the optional front crash prevention system. This system earned a “superior” rating from the IIHS and the vehicle's impressive crashworthiness earned it a “good” rating in each of the five crash tests from the IIHS. These test include the side impact, head restraint, small overlap front, moderate overlap front, and roof strength. A Rear-Camera Display comes standard on the 2016 Kia Optima. The two millionth vehicle to be produced at the Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. (KMMG) has officially rolled off the assembly line. This plant first opened its doors on November 16, 2006 in West Point, Georgia, and in the six years since then this plant has had a large impact for both Kia sales in the U.S. and for the local community surrounding the plant. The creation of this plant led to over 15,000 jobs in the West Point, GA area thus boosting employment and the local economy. Autotrader released their list of Must Test Drive Vehicles for 2016 last week during the New York International Auto Show, which included the 2016 Kia Sedona. A new partnership has been formed between Kia Motors America (KMA) and the non-profit organization, Hire Heroes USA. Through this new partnership, KMA has made an initial donation of $25,000, and they have made Hire Heroes USA the official charity partner of the of the 2016 LPGA Kia Classic. As such, the organization will receive a portion of the proceeds collected through ticket sales. Hire Heroes USA is an organization that is dedicated to helping retired military veterans find a way to use the skills they learned in the military to forge a successful career as they transition back into civilian life. The organization includes teams of Veteran Transition Specialists that are spread out in seven different areas across the U.S. Most of these specialists are military veterans and have been through this process themselves. Kia Motors America proudly announced on Tuesday that they just had their best February ever with sales totaling 49,737 vehicles. This was a 13 percent increase over February 2015, which brought in 44,030 vehicles. This was also Kia’s tenth consecutive sales month during which they broke a sales record. Soul and Optima led the way with the Soul selling 11,842 vehicles and Optima selling 9,630 vehicles. The Forte and Sportage also pitched in, selling 8,187 and 5,860 vehicles compared to last February’s 5,549 and 3,407 vehicles. “With our Super Bowl ad, Presidents’ Day Sales Event and prominent role in the NBA All-Star Game, February was a huge month for Kia as we extended our monthly record streak to double digits,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA. “Positive economic indicators, low gas prices and mild weather nationwide also drove consumers into Kia showrooms at a record pace, where they discovered the ‘New Kia’s’ line-up of world-class products.” You can see the full statistics at the link below. Kia knows that no matter how much effort you put into designing and developing a new vehicle that it means nothing unless you obtain the seal of approval from your customers. At the recent Anaheim and Miami Auto Shows Kia Motors America put several of their new models on display and offered some attendees the chance to take them out for a test drive along with a Kia representative to point out all of the new features along the way.
