2017 Sedona

When the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IISH) presents a Top Safety Pick Plus+ award to a vehicle, that means that it has earned a “good” or better rating in each of the IIHS crashworthiness tests. These tests include the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. It must also offer an available front crash prevention system that earns a rating of “Advanced or Superior” in order to claim the “Plus” status. Kia is proud to announce that 2017 Sedona is the latest model in the Kia lineup to achieve this prestigious safety rating.

This model earned a “good” rating for each of the tests making it a sure Top Safety Pick recipient. However, the addition of Autonomous Emergency Braking in their front crash prevention system upped the system;s rating from “basic” to “superior” giving it the highest possible Top Safety Pick Plus+ rating.

“Buyers often place safety at the top of their list when shopping for a new minivan,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning KMA. “The IIHS is a highly respected safety authority and we see the 2017 Sedona’s TSP+ rating as validation of Kia’s dedication to its customers and to the continuous efforts to build better and safer vehicles.”
