Kia Continues Ten Month Sales Streak
Kia Motors America proudly announced on Tuesday that they just had their best February ever with sales totaling 49,737 vehicles. This was a 13 percent increase over February 2015, which brought in 44,030 vehicles. This was also Kia’s tenth consecutive sales month during which they broke a sales record.
Soul and Optima led the way with the Soul selling 11,842 vehicles and Optima selling 9,630 vehicles. The Forte and Sportage also pitched in, selling 8,187 and 5,860 vehicles compared to last February’s 5,549 and 3,407 vehicles.
“With our Super Bowl ad, Presidents’ Day Sales Event and prominent role in the NBA All-Star Game, February was a huge month for Kia as we extended our monthly record streak to double digits,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA. “Positive economic indicators, low gas prices and mild weather nationwide also drove consumers into Kia showrooms at a record pace, where they discovered the ‘New Kia’s’ line-up of world-class products.”

Kia Offers Customers A Ride In New Models
Kia knows that no matter how much effort you put into designing and developing a new vehicle that it means nothing unless you obtain the seal of approval from your customers. At the recent Anaheim and Miami Auto Shows Kia Motors America put several of their new models on display and offered some attendees the chance to take them out for a test drive along with a Kia representative to point out all of the new features along the way.
The vehicles that were part of this test drive experience included the Sorento, Soul EV, K900, Soul, and Forte. All of the drivers appeared to be quite impressed with the easy ride and handling of each vehicle along with the quick acceleration capabilities and several advanced technology features available on some of the models such as four-way cameras, panoramic sunroofs, easy exit function, rear power sunshade, Infinity Sound System, and much more.

Kia Motors America has announced it is expanding its line of eco-friendly vehicles with the unveiling of the 2017 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid. The Optima Plug-In Hybrid will join the all-new 2017 Niro Hybrid Utility Vehicle and all-new 2017 Optima Hybrid in the sub-brand Kia Motors EcoDynamics. All three vehicles will be host to several stylish features and technological upgrades.
The 2017 Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid includes an upgraded and powerful 2.0-liter “Nu” Four-Cylinder GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) Engine paired with a Six-Speed Automatic Transmission. The electric component includes a transmission-mounted 50 kW motor. Together, it is 42 percent more powerful than the preceding Optima Hybrid, and a 20 percent improvement in engine efficiency altogether.
Other features of the Optima Hybrid’s all-around upgrades are Harman/Kardon QuantumLogic™ Premium Surround Sound Audio System, which includes 10 speakers and Driver Assistance Technologies like Blind Spot Detection, Advanced Smart Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning System, and Front Collision Warning System.
“As part of our bold initiative to increase fuel efficiency by 25 percent across the entire Kia model lineup by 2020, a plug-in hybrid was a critical addition to our offering. The Optima HEV adds hybrid efficiency to the standout styling and vehicle dynamics of our all-new Optima, and the PHEV takes things one step further with all-electric range that is among the best in the segment,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, Kia Motors America. “All three of the vehicles being introduced here at the Chicago Auto Show are emblematic of Kia’s commitment to sustainability and our philosophy that you shouldn’t have to accept compromises when making a green choice.”

Kia Proves K900 is Fit for a King
Given NBA SuperStar Lebron James’ massive fame and success, some people are having a difficult time believing that he drives an affordable vehicle like the Kia. In a series to prove that Kia can stand among the best luxury cars, Lebron James disproves twitter users’ skepticism about his car.
In the most recent ad, @Norvina1 tweets “Lebron James drives a Kia like I drive a spaceship.” Because Lebron actually does drive a Kia, he assumes @Norvina1 isn’t being sarcastic. So he throws on a space suit and heads over to her house, hoping to catch a ride to space!

Kia Reports Record January Sales
Kia Motors America continues to break records as they report their best recorded January sales ever with 38,305 units. This is closely following setting an all-time sales record in 2015. The Kia Sportage, Soul, and Sedona led the way for Kia as all three had double-digit gains.
Kia managed to achieve this feat despite the unpredictable winter weather that occurred all over the East Coast. “Despite fewer selling days and record snowfall up and down the East Coast, our dealers worked diligently with customers who continue to discover the world-class products and ownership experience that encompasses the ‘New Kia,’” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA.
