Kia Motors America has announced that total sales for the month of October came to 48,997 units while their year-to-date sales are up 2.8 percent to reach 540,741 units sold so far this year. The Soul and the Forte both achieved their best-ever October sales with 13,0036 units sold for the Soul and 8,013 units sold for the Forte. This represents increases of 6.5 percent and 54.2 percent respectively.

“Despite industry-wide challenges, the second-best October performance in company history helped Kia outpace the overall industry once again,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA. “Over the last ten years the ‘New Kia’ has transformed into a recognized leader in design, quality, and technology, and Interbrand’s recent report details the ‘spectacular growth’ that has led to a seven-fold increase in Kia’s estimated brand value since 2006.”

Additional October Sales:

  • Rio sales were up 16.2 percent with 1,826 units
  • Optima sales came to 9,974 units
  • Cadenza sales came to 289 units
  • Sportage sales increased 28.3 percent with 5,741 units
  • Sorento sales came to 7,651 units
  • Sedona sales increased 1.5 percent to reach 2,366 units

Not one, but two Kia vehicles were presented with Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year awards in their respective categories. The 13th annual ceremony was recently held in Chandler, Arizona where the winning vehicles were each presented with their AVL awards. All of the eligible vehicles for this year were evaluated by a panel that was made up of athletes and local media. The 2016 Soul took home top place in the Urban Category for the fifth year in a row while the 2017 Cadenza was named the winner in the Full-Size Sedan Segment.

“Winning the Active Lifestyle Vehicle award for the fifth consecutive year is a clear indication that the Soul makes a great companion for urbanites who are constantly on the go,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president of product planning, KMA. “Its unique combination of style, fun-to-drive attitude, extensive feature content, and practicality make the Soul a crowd favorite, while the Cadenza’s upscale design, ample interior, and advanced convenience features make it a fierce competitor in the full-size sedan segment.”

The 2016 SEMA Show will be taking place next week from November 1 – November 4, 2016 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. As a result, manufacturers from all over the world will be in attendance in order to show off the newest vehicles in their lineup including all of their exciting new concepts vehicles and redesigned models. For Kia Motors America, SEMA 2016 is a chance for them to show off the “Soul First Class,” which is a first-class vehicle that offers premium traveling and is the next step in their goal to have a fully autonomous vehicle on the road by 2030.

Overall, Kia’s mission is to create vehicles that are not only capable of driving themselves but that will be built specifically to cater to each owner’s individual lifestyle needs. With the Soul First Class, Kia has developed an upscale vehicle that will allow commuters to commute to and from work while focusing on getting work done or simply relaxing after a long instead of driving.

This model has no steering wheel and includes rear-facing seats, a 40-inch flat screen connected to premium-level speakers, and a custom motorized center console with two tablets that control the vehicle functions. In terms of design, the interior is adorned with gray wood flooring and white and grey leather with diamond stitching while the exterior includes PPG Lux Blue exterior paint, Aerodynamic 19-inch Rotiform Monoblock CCV wheels, and modified upper and lower grilles with LED lighting.

Kia Motors rises to 69th in Interbrand’s 2016 Best Global Brands report

Kia Motors America has seen quite the upswing in financial growth over the past decade. In fact, according to Interbrand, Kia has now moved up in their annual 100 Best Global Brands report to claim the 69th spot. This is five spot increase from just last year in response to the 12 percent brand value growth that Kia has experienced since 2015. SInce 2006, however, Kia’s brand value has risen a staggering 603 percent rising from $5.7 billion in 2006 to $6.3 billion in 2016!

“Despite economic uncertainty and stagnation in the automotive market across a number of regions, this welcome rise in Kia’s brand value is a clear reflection of extensive company-wide efforts to ensure consistent and continuous growth in our brand power. This result provides us with further motivation to continue our mission to become the most desirable automotive brand in the eyes of consumers,” said Charles Suh, Senior Vice President of the Corporate Marketing Division, Kia Motors.

The annual Interbrand Best Global Brands report has been conducted for the past 17 years. It recognizes the 100 brands that they have determined to be the most valuable based on analysis of their different brand strengths including customer expectations and their ability to create greater economic value. Interbrand uses an ISO-certified brand valuation method to rate each brand with a cumulative value based on their scores in a number of attributes. These attributes include the brand’s ability to secure earnings and demand a premium price, the role they play in influencing customer choice, and the financial performance of their branded products and services.

Kia Motors America (KMA) has announced that with September sales of 49,220, they have now reached a total of 491,764 units sold for the year. This means that sales for the first three-quarters of the year are not only up 3.3 percent from last year but this is also the best first three-quarter sales results in Kia history!

“On the strength of double-digit gains for the Rio, Forte, Sportage and Sedona nameplates through the first nine months of the year, Kia’s upward trajectory continues despite the industry showing signs of little growth,” said Michael Sprague, chief operating officer and EVP, KMA.

More September Sales:

  • Sales of the Rio were up 44.7 percent with 2,141 units
  • Sales of the Forte were up 53.2 percent with 8,256 units
  • Sales of the Optima came to 9,010 units
  • Sales of the Cadenza came to 390 units
  • Sales of the Sportage increased 58.6 percent with 6,282 units
  • Sales of the Sorento came to 8,137 units
  • Sales of the Sedona increased 0.39 percent to reach 3,051 units
  • Sales of the Soul came to 11,885 units
